Dynamic architecture by David Fisher

Dr. David Fisher’s Dynamic Tower is the first building in motion that will change its shape and add a fourth dimension to architecture: Time. The shape will be determined by each floor’s direction of rotation, speed, acceleration and the timing; with timing meaning how each floor rotates compared to the other. The rotation speed will be between 60 minutes and 24 hours for one revolution.

Residents, if they own the entire floor, are able to control the speed and direction of the rotation by voice command. One can have breakfast watching the sunrise, lunch viewing the open sea, and dinner overlooking the lights of the city – all from the same place inside their unit. The other floors will be commanded by the architect, by the mayor or whoever will have the password to the computer program that will give the building a different shape at every glance.

According to Dr Fisher, these buildings will be designed by all of us, at any given moment, and will be shaped according to our needs, our present concepts of design and quite importantly, our moods – as an expression of freedom, beginning for the first time in history to control the shape of our homes and cities.

this is teribile…

Damnnn I loooovvee It :D

All words of congratulations to one of the greatest architects in history. I only don’t understand one thing and I would be so arrogant to ask:,,Won’t there be a problem of motion to the live elements and people as well, inside the structure while it is rotating?”
I think, and I’m just a student, If someone would to stay inside the building, or if he shifts between floors to fast, or to many times, that person would be hardly disoriented and may even suffer some medical difficulties,… That is if I’m correct.
Once again fascinating work and all the best.

i think the idea is about our mother earth, our home in common, rotating it self, which can be realized by nights and days, 24 hours…and thats the fourth dimenssion of architecture: Time.
Awesome…

IF on the same floor if one unit can have breakfast watching the sunrise, lunch viewing the open sea, and dinner overlooking the lights of the city what veiws can be seen by other units on the same floor????

Nice idea. But for me, the Lips will be a problem for people, whose are live in…

its my dream to become a dynamic architect

Yes, it could be new, interesting, and futuristic idea. But do we really need a moving or rotating skyscraper? Who will be served by this? I think that this is just for luxury and it would not be functional. What if the floor is owned by more than one resident? Who will control the thing? So, I found that this is just an illusion and a waste of money. Instead of this dynamic skyscraper we can build thousands of houses for homeless people. We have a lot of other problems to solve through architecture other than living in a rotating house to enjoy different views during the day !!

“Strong lives are motivated by dynamic purposes; lesser ones exist on wishes and inclinations.”
